Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

When is the best time to photograph my newborn baby?

The best time for your newborn photoshoot is 6 to 14 days old. After this time, newborn babies are harder to settle and things like colic and baby acne can start to flare up. If your baby is a preemie we can go off of gestational age if needed.

How far in advance should I schedule a newborn session?

As soon as possible. Most clients book their newborn session as soon as they find out they are pregnant. I only schedule a set number of newborns each month. Your session is only tentative and can me adjusted according to when baby arrives.

Where will my session take place?

Newborns and littles are photographed at my studio in Cottonwood Heights, UT. All other sessions take place outdoors and exact location will be determined at a later date. There is a $75 travel fee for sessions taking place 20 miles outside Cottonwood Heights.

Do you offer mini sessions?

I offer mini sessions on specific dates a few times a year. These are often themed or take place around holidays. I also do family mini sessions in the fall, also on specific days. Follow me on Facebook and Instagram for details on mini sessions. Prices for mini sessions vary and depend on the type of mini session offered. Newborn Mini Sessions are the only ones permanently in my collections.

Do you do "in home" or "lifestyle" newborn sessions?

No I do not. All newborn sessions take place at my studio in Cottonwood Heights, UT.

What is your turn around time?

You will receive your edited images 2-3 weeks after your session. Editing times can be slightly longer during September-December. For $75 you can have your images rushed and you will receive them in three business days.

When is the remaining balance of my session due?

The balance of your session is due in full at your session. The only exception is if payment arrangements have been made on Baby's First Year Package.

What is included in editing?

Editing includes skin perfecting, color enhancement and black & white conversion. Head swapping or any other extensive editing will be charged $50 per hour with a $50 minimum charge.

How do I know what to bring to my newborn session?

Prior to your session I will email you a prep guide to help you get ready for your session.

Do you have clothing and accessories available to use?

Yes! I provide everything for newborns. I also have an extensive studio wardrobe with clothing for girls NB-10Y and boys
NB-18M. I also have lots of headbands and hats for use.

What if my child is ill the day of my session?

Please do not bring a sick child to the studio(or sick parent/sibling). If they are showing signs of being ill, I will send you home. It is almost impossible to get good photos out of a sick child/baby. I am happy to reschedule. Out of respect to me and other clients please stay home when ill.

Are deposits refundable?

No they are not. They can be transferred to a different session one time. After that you will be responsible for paying a new deposit.

What should I wear to my family session?

Coordinating colors tend to photograph better than perfectly matched clothing. Consider selecting a pallet of 3-4 coordinating colors and select outfits within the pallet for each family member.

Can I receive my images unedited/raw?

No. I do not ever give out unedited photos. The editing that I do is part of my artistic style and brand, therefore I am unable to supply unedited files.
